Description
Diamond and Jade are probably the biggest fake game of Pokémon around. As far as I know, it is a game that comes from Japan, that is similar to Pokémon, called "Telefang". They just put in the Pokémon Logo on the box and intro screen.

The game is set in an "Electric Pkkémon World". Instead of catching Pokémon, you fight the monsters in the game and they'll give you their phone number. When you want to battle, you must phone one of these monsters up and they'll come to you. You do kinda own a monster, Kiribute, a monster that looks a little bit like the Pokémon Sandslash. He's a bit like Pikachu in yellow and follows you about the whole time. You don't have to call for him, and he always gets sent into battle first. Like in Pokémon there seems to be a limit of monsters that you can use in battle, I think in this game it's three.
Telefang, like Pokémon Red/Blue, Gold/Silver, came out with Speed and Power. The hackers changed this to Diamond and Jade.

For a while, some real Pokémon Fans discussed this game a lot, because it was supposed to have "neu" Pokémon in it, but these monsters have got nothing to do with Pikachu and co., so watch out!

How you can tell it's a Fake
There are lots of things that prove that this game is a fake, some you can see before hand, others when you are playing the game.

  • The package: The back of the box is just cut and pasted with old pictures. It shows Lt. Surge, Erika, three diamonds, Pikachu, Venusaur, the new dragon like Pokémon that is also on the front of the box, and some very badly edited pictures from Red or Blue. These games advertises with new Pokémon, but don't even have the old ones in them.
And there also seems to be two different packages for diamond:

There is NEVER two different boxes for the same game, and on the second one, there are diamonds floating in the background, Pokémon games don't have things floating about in the background.
  • The translation: The people who translated this game didn't seem to speak English very well. They did though, seem to know a lot of english swear words, so I've heard. Nintendo would never, ever make such a terribly translated game, never!
  • The intro: In the intro, they show your character, in all the real games they only showed Pokémon. Also, after the intro it's just a kind of picture that hardly moves, where as in the original games, the starting screen is much more animated.
  • The people: You can't chose your own name like in the other games, which I think is really sick. You get stuck with Mr. Bek ^_^ That is so stupid, I bet if you couldn't chose your own name in a real Pokémon game, you'd probably be called Gold, Silver, Red, Blue, or something else, but the most Pokémon players are kids, I mean, do you call the kid next door *Mr. Whatever*? Also, the little figures of people in the game look nothing like in the originals.
  • The monsters: Probably the biggest difference to any Nintendo Pokémon Game. They aren't even called "Pokémon", they're called E-Monsters (electric monsters)! E-MONSTERS, what kind of a name issat supposed to be??? It could at least be Emon! And you don't have to phone your Pokémon in the other games, that is just stupid! Cuz NORMAL Pokémon can't talk! Also, there are no Pokémon Centres, so the monsters just recover by themselves. Also, they've got strange names, I mean, what kind of Pokémon's going to be called Kesi? Or NatMon? That's more like Digimon! The monsters are more like Digimon anyway! Because they can talk, and you don't catch them in Pokéballs. And they don't really look like Pokémon. And I don't even think they evolve!
  • All around: This game has got nothing to do with Pokémon, you don't even collect badges. And the stuff it says on the back of the box is just stupid, stuff like, "You've finally been granted your trainer's licence, now it's time to become the world's greatest Pokémon trainer. It's going to take you all you've got to collect 251 Pokémon in this enourmous word. Catch and train the shockingly cute Pikachu. Face off against Blastoise's torrential water cannons. Stand strong when facing Pidgeot's stormy Gust." I mean, does that sound like what Nintendo usually says? And they spellt Pidgeot and Pikachu with small letters at the start! And they wrote: pidgeot' stormy gust! If you really want to have this game, you'd best just get the rom from the web somewhere, you don't need the real game, you'll just waste your money.
