Cheats, Codes an Glitches that work

There are loads of cheats and codes in the internet and magazines, but most of them are lies. I try to test as many as I can and I will list all the ones that do work here.

Gold and Silver

The first cheat for Gold and Silver was:

Duplicate Pokémon

1.)Save in front of the PC.
2.)Deposit the Pokémon you want to duplicate. (You can deposit more than one if you want)
3.)Change Box and say yes when it asks if you want to overwrite your saved game.
4.)Very important!As soon as it says SAVING, turn the Gameboy off. (No more than saving is allowed to apear!)
5.)Turn the Gameboy on and check your team. You will have the Pokémon with you. Now check your box. That Pokémon will be there too. (If that Pokémon was holding an Item, that will be duplicated, too.)
Note: Never, never withdraw a Pokémon when doing this or it will be erased. Otherwise this cheat does absolutely nothing to your game, no glitches or anything like that.

The best Pokémon to duplicate are Tyrogue and Eevee, or rare Pokémon like Lugia or Ho-oh.

Keep your Balls

It quite often happens that you waste loads and loads of Balls on a Pokémon before you catch it.
To keep your Pokéballs, do this:
1.) Deposit one Pokémon, so that you have five Pokémon with you.
2.) Save the game in front of the PC.
3.) Go out and catch the Pokémon you want.
4.) Go to the Pokémon Center and deposit the Pokémon you just caught.
5.) Go to "Change Box", and go onto an empty box.
6.) It will ask you if you want to overwrite the saved game.
7.) Say "Yes", and as soon as it says "Saving", turn the Gameboy off. (No more than saving is allowed to apear!)
8.) When you turn the Gameboy on again the Pokémon will be on your PC and you'll still have all your Balls.

Note: When you do this, the Pokémon you caught will not apear in your PokéDex as the game thinks that you never caught that Pokémon. Trade it to a friend and back again to get its PokéDex info.
If you catch a Pokémon like Lugia, Ho-oh, Raikou, Entei or Suicune they will still be in the wild, so you can catch them again and again with this trick.

All Three Starters

  1. Save the game in Elm's lab
  2. Choose one of the starters, go to Mr. Pokémon, go back to Elm and get the five Pokéballs.
  3. Catch any Poké,mon and give your starter a Pokéball.
  4. Put your starting Pok&eacte;mon on the PC, change Boxes, and exactly when the word SAVING is appearing on the screen switch the Game off.
  5. Turn on the game and pick another starter, go to the next town and take out the Pokémon on the PC.
  6. Put both sarters in the Box and change Boxes, and switch off when SAVING appears on the screen.
  7. Turn the Game on again and pick the last starter. Go to the next city and withdraw the two Pokémon on the PC.

    Note: The first two Pokémon won't be in your Pokédex.

    Note 2: Only save before getting the first Pokémon. Don't ever save anywhere after getting the first Pokémon, while doing this cheat.
