Like in Red and Blue you play as Ash, but now you start off with Pikachu, who like in the TV-Series refuses to go into his Pokéball. It walks around behind you, and you can talk to him to see how much he likes you. You will now meet Team Rocket Members Jessie and James, with their Pokémon Ekans/Arbok, Koffing/Weezing and Meowth. The cities are now a bit more colourful, Pewter is grey, Cerulean is Blue, Celadon is gree, and so on. The game follows a similar storyline as the TV-Series, but otherwise it is very similar to Red and Blue. There is also a Mini-Game that you can play at Fushia Beach if you have a surfing Pikachu from Pokémon Stadium. You have to trade with Pokémon Red/Blue to get all 150 Pokémon.
