In Crystal you can chose between a girl or a boy trainer (this does not change the gameplay much).
Crystal is for G/S what Yellow was for Red and Blue, it is a improved version that
does not have any new Pokémon in it. There is more secrets around the
mysterious Unown than in Gold/Silver. The legendary dog Suicune is
the main character in this game, and after you have chased him about a bit he'll
fight you without running away like in G/S. There is a new Battle Tower, in which
you challenge trainers with Pok&eaute;mon at certain levels, and it could take
ages for you to beat this tower. Each Pokémon has its own battle animation,
nothing great, but better than the still Pokémon in G/S. This game is for
Gameboy Colour only, so people who have only got the old Gameboy cannot play
it on it.
