  • Beat the 8 Gym Leaders and the Elite Four to become a Pokémon Master Trainer

You play as the 10 year old Ash Ketchum from Pallet Town and your goal is to catch all 151 Pokémon to become a Pokémon Master. Chose Bulbasaur, Charmander or Squirtle and set out to catch and train as many Pokémon as you can. Battle other trainers and the 8 Gym Leaders until you are strong enough to join the Pokémon League. The game play is interesting, and it is not like a jump-and-run game that you finish playing in about two days, it can take months to complete the Pokédex, find every item and beat every trainer.

I really liked these games, and I still play them, but if you haven't got a Pokémon game yet, it is probably best to buy a newer edition, like Pokémon Gold, Silver or Crystal.
